Symptoms

When surveying ovarian cancer sufferers, 55% were not aware of the symptoms of ovarian cancer before they were diagnosed.

With 7,300 women being diagnosed per year in the UK from the cancer, and with only a 35% survival rate due to the nature of the symptoms being closely similar to other ailments. It is crucial that women know and understand the symptoms and persist with doctors for further tests if similar.

It is also crucial that women know that smear tests do not diagnose ovarian cancer.
